Altadena's trails have drawn people for generations…Eaton Canyon, Millard Falls, Echo Mountain. The city itself carries a deeper history: a place where Black families built a thriving middle-class community in the 1960s, largely free from the redlining that locked them out of so much of Los Angeles.

These photographs were taken in 2024. On January 7, 2025, the Eaton Fire tore through the area, destroying homes, closing trails, and reshaping a landscape that had taken lifetimes to build.

These are some of the details found on the trail, before.

Giclee fine art prints on archival Hahnemühle paper. Medium texture. Shipping included.
